My favorite: The one, the only, the immortal Jerome "Curly" Howard. ( 1903-1952 ) There will never be another.

Best stand up comic, and one of the only ones I think is actually funny: George Carlin.

Jim Gaffigan - one of the few truly original and hilarious comedians today who doesn't resort to vulgarity and juvenile sex jokes.

Brian Regan - love his delivery.

Mitch Hedburg - This guy is from another planet. "A severed foot is a perfect stocking stuffer"

Don Rickles, Sam Kinison, Rodney Dangerfield, Olsen & Johnson, Steven Wright, like them all however "Mr. Nice" is my favorite.

to these greats you've already mentioned (hicks, carlin, and hedburg), i'll add cross and odenkirk.

and the guys from python.

galifianakis embraces the absurd. this is important.

politically, it's maher and stewart.

when i was little, i used to love the marx brothers for some reason. harpo's great, but their films bore me. i can still watch laurel and hardy for days. chaplin's in a whole different category.

dead or alive? right now I'm enjoying a new show featuring Whitney Cummings. just googled her and it looks like she has done other stuff. youtube has some stuff too. anyway, her looks remind me of this chic I was crazy for so I started watching, and the show is actually funny.
