I recently purchased serial # 7640.

and am wondering what it is worth in its present needs work condition.

the purchase price was rather low, thus no incentive from that regard to keep it original - but if there was someone who would value it to restore I would be willing to trade for another tandem frame/fork headset/eccentric or more complete tandem

With my business trips, and other bike projects; there is no way that I will be doing anything with until some time next year at the earliest.

Is that dirt/patina on the bottom tube or big patches of peeling paint?

If it was a 59 I would be interested at a reasonable cost that included shipping. I am someone here would take it off your hands for double what you paid for it. If you took some time to clean and wax it you might get much much more off ebay.

Thank you for the reply.

If it was a 59 (or 55 to 59) I would keep it; this one is a bit to tall for us to be comfortable. My other thought was to have it shortened, then powder coated. The paint Jack Taylor used is not very durable. The problem then is that Jack's box lining would be gone. The decals are available, so restoring them in not difficult.
