I found a 1969 Western Flyer Fairway Flyer comfort bike. $40, wondering if it is worth cleaning up and reselling. 271934

Ive seen a lot of that type of bike on eBay...best bet would be to go to eBay, advanced search and search completed auctions to see what they have been going for.

Cheers,

Joe

I bought that bike (1969 Western Flyer Fairway Flyer comfort bike) for $37.77 cash and picked up locally. I am not sure I can sell bike as is and make any money off it. It is clean and has very little or no rust, I was wondering if I should sell parts off it and save the rest of the parts for the future. I might can sell the wheels and brake cables etc. It has a single gears 3 speed rear hub. Shiny wheel fender, handle bar have a twist shifter. Whats your thoughts?

Not worth the effort to part out. Air up tires, and sell it as a complete bike, for $40 to $50 around here. Now if you plan to work on discount store level vintage 3 speeds in the future, sure, hang on to the parts.

In a hot market, you might get $100 for it. Red hot markets, maybe even more. Location, location, location.

I can't imagine parting would be worth the trouble. Could probably get $80 for it here, up to $125 if patient.

Seat clamp is backwards.
