Not that I have the slightest wish to gloat over our results (in spite of the UCI's best efforts), but our multiple track medal winning performances, plus Brad's/Froomey's TdF podium placings are causing enormous problems for us and similar Go-Ride clubs (see http://www.britishcycling.org.uk/go-ride).
On our special 18th August Go-Ride Games day, 76 kids and 15 parents turned up for 4 hours of fun, while Palmer Park Velo's day attracted 100 kids (grrrr).
The last 2 weeks brought 72 and 74 kids against a normal attendance of about 40. Newcomers from 5 to 14 have been inspired by the Olympics to try the exciting new (:innocent:) sport of cycling. All we need now is another 4/5 parents to qualify as coaches, some more to volunteer to sign kids on and book our 30 club bikes out for those who want to try road or cross bikes, to help with refreshments and with setting out the pallets, planks, ramps, seesaws, limbo bars, cones etc.
Oh for the good old days when 20 kids turning up was cause for celebrations.
But please, please, please, don't get the impression that I'm gloating:D
