Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Volagi (http://volagi.com/) is running a Kickstarter campaign for their new steel-frame / carbon fork model:

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/874048428/the-viaje-bicycle-engineered-for-adventure

135mm rear, disk brakes only, BB386 Evo, takes 700x42 tires if you want. Kickstarter pricing is $600 for the heavier frame & full carbon fork, $900 for the lighter frame & full carbon fork.

Check it out and spread the word! My only interest is a personal one: I'm in for a frameset, so I definitely want the Kickstarter to fund by the deadline at the end of September. ;)

I'd love to see this get funded as both the Viaje and the Liscio have caught my eye. Anyone here have a Liscio that use for long distance riding that they care to review?

A Volagi Viaje SL is my dream n+1. I was able to see and offered a test ride on a Liscio recently. I decline the ride because I knew that my passions would be inflamed to the point of being unbearable. Now that they have the bike in steel (or will hopefully soon) then I know exactly what I want and it is the Viaje SL.

Too bad my finances won't let me participate in the kickstarter project for a SL frame :-(

I test rode a Liscio at my LBS here in San Francisco a few months ago, and was very impressed by it. It was the mid-range one with SRAM (Rival? Force? Can't remember for sure). I just couldn't justify the price personally (just over $3300 after tax), but if I could have more easily afforded it, it would be mine now. The Viaje looks very promising, I've been keeping a close eye on it as well!
