Yesterday while getting our Raleigh Coupe ready for today's ride, I came across 2 cracks in the aluminum frame down by where the bolts keep the eccentric in place for the bottom bracket. Of course, I freaked out and said to myself "Oh No!" The bike was bought over 2 years ago so of course I can't find the paperwork but I still had the registration information in case it would ever get stolen. Anyways, I called one of the local Raleigh dealers and explained my dilemma and he said that he'd talk to the Raleigh rep. After a few phone calls and a few discussions, he informed me that because they don't make that frame anymore, Raleigh is going to RMA our bike and give us a brand new bike! I have to bring in to them on Monday. Don't know if it will be this year's model or last year's but anyways I wanted everyone to know how much "Calabazas Cyclery" and Raleigh helped me out on this one. Now I hope what they said is true. If not I'll have to find a good welder. Thought I'd share this story with you and see if anyone else had the same experiences with their bikes.

It seems to me that I have heard of one previous incidence of this, perhaps here, in the last six months. Same outcome, upgrade to better bike with no cost.

Bike Shop just called. Raleigh is delivering a brand new bike and it should be here within the next few days. Warranty said that if frame isn't available so they replace with current model. If that's the case, maybe will get this year's model with 700cc tires and Avid BB7 Discs. Any model would be a blessing as we are going through withdrawals from not riding. The weather here is great! Again, I have to give great praise to not only Raleigh for their "no questions asked policy" but to the owner or Calabazas Cyclery (Bob) in Cupertino for making this all happen.

Just came from Calabazas Cyclery with our new Raleigh Coupe Tandem. Best experience with a bike shop ever thanks to the owner Bob, the Raleigh Rep. Jeff and of course Raleigh Corp. for standing by their warranty and their Product. Going to ride tomorrow.
