I just got my 3 upgrade and tested my legs last week on the new category and got 6th, 2 points. I should end on a high note but instead, am pondering getting my ass handed to me on a tough course 1 2 3 race: https://www.bikereg.com/Net/14408
What do you think?
There are only 8 pre regs so far. I'm sure it will go to 10, but looks like a tiny field. That sucks huh? Dunno what to do.

try it... you might learn something... if you use a powermeter you might set a new pr... in any case you'll have a better idea of how much faster you need to be, just in time for off season training.
Sure, why not? My highest power and flat land speed ever, training or race, was in a M123 race last summer. You'll definitely learn some things.
This must be a rhetorical question. Do it. 8 registrants is kind of embarassing but no harm in getting out there and learning and getting some hard work in.
I have made your decision for you now go register. Thread closed ;p

Yeesh. Go race your bike and quit hand wringing. I'm trying to figure out how to squeeze in a race between opera, asthma, and transporting two dogs.

Good luck. Small field or not, it'll be a good experience. Some of my best results have come from P123 races & I'm a sh!&@y 3.
If PA is anything like the convoluted FL scene, pre reg isn't generally an indication of how many people will show up on race day.

Good Luck. Stay confident and you may surprise yourself. I grabbed a 6th place finish in my first cat1/2/3 race. It was my second race as a 3.
