Hallo, me again. This is just the updated bike. I'm planning on selling it soon, unsure what to ask for though.
What would be good asking? I'm in a really inflated market - center of the bay area.

The frame came from Las Vegas and moved down here to the Bay Area. It seems it was raced quite a bit, has head tube cable wear, and nicks in the paint. It came with that interesting climbing stage setup (aero Lever on the left with a dt shifter, and a brifter on the right).

If it were local to me, I'd go no more than $900 maybe a little less.

I think, on eBay, you can get $1000 - 1200ish fairly easy...people LOVE Merckx and that is a beauty. Honestly, if you told me it sold for 1400ish, I wouldn't be too surprised. I had that model frame in that color and it just POPS! The frame sold for over $500 easily and quickly (I don't remember final price, but it was good - maybe $600). I don't know your area, but anything pricey, no matter what it is, is typically hard to sell on my CL. Some folks are going to be a little put off by the mixed parts, but those are great rider choices and I think someone is going to get it.

If I could get $900 on a local sale, I'd take it and save the hassle of shipping and paypal risk. I'd consider that a very solid local offer.

+1 High end stuff tends to sell relatively cheap on C/L (so as a buyer, this is great, as a seller, it sucks). This bike should do very well on ebay.

You are in a better market, so a high end bike might find a customer. Around here, bikes just don't move above the $400 mark, adjust that range for your market, but there is a point where there just are not buyers. Now a DA EM would probably get responses above the $400 mark (by me, if not anyone else), but it would fall flat at perhaps $600.

When I bought my Colnago Master Lite off C/L, guy had it posted for TWO weeks and I was the only response he had. I really was not interested in a Colnago at that time, but the price was attractive, and got more attractive. Meanwhile, a POS bike for $100 will get flooded with responses.

The few times I have sold high end-ish bikes of frames on craigslist, I listed them for the price I wanted, but not a fantasy price. Then I let it sit and basically forgot about it, as they weren't "must sell now" status. After a few weeks I would get one reply or so, from a serious buyer.
