Anybody know of a hi-viz jacket w/ reflective bits that an 11 yr old could wear riding to middle school?
Thanks in advance.

You might want to think about getting a good jacket, and a separate reflective vest or something, if you child will wear it.
Otherwise, you might have to look to europe for solutions: http://www.brightkidz.co.uk/ as most American's idea of child safety is just strapping them in a car.

You can also buy reflective tape and stickers. Maybe if you get your kid to help with the application, they'll wear it happily (depends on the 11 yo, I think). You can get lightning bolts, skulls, rocket ships, flowers, plain old tape: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=reflective+stickers
You can also get them in different colors, so you could do something tone on tone that would show up primarily when reflecting, if your kid preferred.

Great ideas, thank you!
You're sure right about looking to Europe for child-sized reflectivity.
