340 miles over 4 days out my front door to Washington, DC. Two ferries and a bridge shuttle will keep things interesting along with the all day rain and 15-20 mph headwind on my longest leg on Tuesday. No room to adjust the trip so I'll plaster a smile on my face and call it an adventure. Happy that I fitted fenders a few weeks ago.

Can't see you exact route, but I hope you are not planning to cross the Great Egg Inlet on U.S. 9. The bridge is closed and the draw is in the raised position. U.S. 9 combines with the GSP in Somers Point to get across the inlet. It's not open to bikes. If that is your plan, you should head east at Somers Point on SR 152, hang a right at the traffic light after the first bridge and take the next bridge into the north end of Ocean City. From there, head south. You can get back on U.S. 9 using the 34th Street bridge out of Ocean City. Or you can continue down the coast through the shore towns, which, IMO, is a much more interesting route. U.S. 9 has a lot of traffic in places, and with the businesses along the road, people turning in front of you to get into parking lots. NJ drivers love to speed by you only to turn in front of you a few seconds later.

Looks like your route cuts right thru the Jersey Pine Barrens. That's a great route!!! But, since I too can't see the actual route I will offer my own guidance. If RT 9 is part of the package, be aware that Rt 9 at New Gretna joins with the Garden State Parkway as it crosses the Mullica River. No bicycles allowed! A short jog SW on RT 542 gets you to RT 563 which will take you south thru Mays Landing. There is no east alternative as the Mullica empties into a bay surrounded by a wild life refudge. There are no bridge crossings.

As you cross the Delmarva, if you need a place to camp, Highland Aerosports at Ridgely Airport in Ridgely MD are accomadating folks. Plenty of space to set up at their small grass field airport.
