Be warned: this old Chiorda I picked up last week is even uglier than the Aquila I bought today & posted on the forum,
Here is a turd-brown Chiorda - an early example from the Italian bike company that Bianchi bought.

Rides really nice. Simplex derailleurs and Ballila brakes.
Worth more than $8 ??

I have owned several similar Chiroda bicycles, both man's and woman's frames. This is an example of the woman's Step Through (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/Feature_Bicycles/Custom_Built_Bicycles/CHIORDA_EVIE/Chiorda_Evie_1_Start.htm) that I built up for a lady, a few years ago. This Chiorda has been modified and upgraded in several ways...

Watch out for that splined crank shaft. It, improperly assembled and adjusted, can cause problems.
For the most part, the Chiordas that I have found have been entry level, at best. Be careful with the fork - it is extremely fragile and bends quite easily. Other than that, another Italian offering designed to meet the needs of the entry level enthusiast.
I have heard that there are some pretty nice high end Chiorda bicycles out there, but none have managed to find their way into The Old Shed (http://www.mytenspeeds.com/My_TenSpeeds_1/FREE_SITE_1/FREE_SITE_10_Old_Shed_1.htm) just yet.

Hey, that's not a bad looking bike! How did you arrive at the 1968 date? I remember seeing Chiordas in department stores back in the 60s. We used to make fun of them.

I think it is on the frame somewhere....
