Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello everyone,

We're North West based (The Wirral) so we're not without great family routes to ride... but we were wondering if people had any good recommendations for family rides in the North West? Liverpool, Manchester, Lancashire, Cumbria...

We put together this little list of our Top 5 (http://www.bikeclaimsolicitors.co.uk/blog/posts/2012/july/5-great-family-bike-rides-in-the-nw.aspx)

But we're sure there are plenty more! Post your suggestions and map routes (where possible) in this thread!

Have you tried the Fallowfield Loop Line In Manchester?

It starts from the new Metrolink Tram Stop in Chorlton and ends in Fairfield in East Manchester near the National Cycling Centre.

Apart from crossing Wilmslow Road in Withington past Sainsburys it is entirely traffic free and apart from the annoying anti mortorbike barriers is a fun enjoyable ride and is used by cyclists, dog walkers and everyone wanting away from traffic.
