Found this in the bushes near my house; looks like it's been outside for a while. I'm working to clean it up and getting working as we speck (not restore; just looking good enough to ride). Fortunately it is made for 700c wheels (I have a spare set) and I only plan to replace the cables, the front derailleur (while I made it functional, was locked up,the chrome is gone to rust) and derailleur stop (already in the mail); I'm still milling over the seat. Replace or recover.

Are you certain that it is made for 700c wheels?

Are you certain that it is made for 700c wheels?

=8-)Well the brake pads line up with the rims of a pair of 700c wheels, so I would say yes. These Mixte bikes have an interesting history. The Nito brand was the house brand of the old Bikeology company that later became Supergo. Bikeology was also responsible for the Centurion brand http://sheldonbrown.com/centurion/index.html. These bikes were made by the same Japanese manufacturer as the Centurions.

The bike is a collection of Suntour and SR and I just find it a blast to re-condition these old bikes; sometimes just for the sake of a project taking things apart and learning the old technology; ie the Suntour Power Shift that Rivendale is so hot about . The only issue so far was the stem was stuck in the fork but with some penetrating oil and elbow grease I got it out in a couple of days. I also found a new JIS headset The appears to be OEM for $5.00! Every one needs a good project to keep his mind active..

Have fun with that.

I have an aversion to anything that requires a derailleur claw myself, though... still, nice pinstriping around the head lugs. An integral seatpost would tidy it a bit.
