Some good points, but the absolute calorie advice is a bit pointless without linking it to body weight and activity level.
It is funny to see some people in the gym working on the aerobic machines while watching tv/reading a book, all with an extremely relaxed look on the face and without breaking a sweat...

I hope you realize that it's a self promotional joke.

The latest research gathered by Gary Taubes and others suggests that the consumption of refined carbs is the primary cause of fat accumulation. It's more complicated than the simple calories in/calories out (according to Taubes). The thread topic is fat gain, not weight gain.

Dude you're soooooo 2007 with your research, it's really BPA that makes people fat ;)
Had a laugh recently - they've printed a new magazine in Australia called "Womens Fitness". Ok nothing wrong with that, but the advertisements go on about how it's packed with great ideas like (i) receipes, and (ii) how to get fit without hitting the gym or doing serious exercise.

The women's magazines in the U.S. are famous for having a "Lose 10 pounds fast!" headline on the cover right next to "The best chocolate cake, ever!" headline.
That's too much work to gain fat, the author just needs to start each morning with a pound of fat bacon lightly fried so as not to render the fat. Instant results in 3 days....

Didn't care much for the info in the article. It's just playing around with popular weight loss and gains ideas.
The less you eat, the lower your metabolism will go, which is optimal for storing body fat.
That one is quite popular. It seems to suggest that you should eat more to lose weight. For people who like eating anyway, common sense might not be enough to over rule that one.
This part is just trivial, but I also don't like the light shade of grey used for the text. It's #666 and the lightest I've seen, although I did run into another site a few weeks ago with the same shade.

Enjoyed that one. You seem to be a practical thinker compared to the article.
