Today while DC was getting snowed on and in between shovelling the walk I caught some great movies on HBO/Cinemax.
First off, this morning I caught "Risky Business." I had never seen it before, but had always wanted to. Tom Cruise was amazing. It was such a great movie.
The second good movie I saw today was one I have seen a few times before. "Secondhand Lions" with Michael Cain and Robert Duvall as two eccentric brothers who adopt grudgingly adopt their nephew, the kid from the "Sixth Sense", and share with him the incredible story of their lives. It really was a great movie. I never heard a lot about it until I caught it on HBO a while ago, but it really is worth seeing. Caine and Duvall are very good. It's somewhat of a family film I would guess, but I really recommend it.
The final great movie I saw today is an all-time classic that I've seen several times before:
"Cool Hand Luke." Paul Newman as a rebellious, free spirited prisoner in a 1960's Southern prison. Paul Newman is incredible and George Kennedy is also very, very, very good. It's a bit old, but it's still to this day a very sharp and powerful movie.
Anybody else like these movies? Any thoughts? It seems to have worked out really well today, cold and snowy outside, roads are a mess, stay inside where it's warm and catch some great movies on TV.
