Hello,

New member here. I've been looking for a vintage bike in the 51cm - 53cm range for a few months. I don't find many frames in this size on craigslist here in the SF Bay Area. I would love to hear opinions on pricing for the following. It seems like most comparable bikes I see advertised on craigslist ask for $600 - $700. I don't have pics but the frame is white and everything should be in very good condition. Thanks for reading.

1. Look beyond just C/L. There are a lot of bike sold via other methods, including here on this forum.

2. You are in one of the most expensive markets in the US. Consider buying outside your area: friends or family that live in another city, or whatever.

3. The best deals are sold before there is time to get an answer: "hey is this one a good deal?". So spend some time getting educated upfront so you can pounce on a deal.

4. Many riders are not fans of tubulars due to the cost of tires and the extra steps required to mount them.

I don't like what I see on that seat post on the SF bike. Did someone wrap in tape to shim a post that was the wrong size? Huh?
