Shouldn't we start with "are they still alive?" One of my friends was eating dinner one night at a restaurant when somebody mentioned Cheap Trick. He asked if they were still alive, and it turns out one of them was eating at the next table and heard them.

If Keith Richards, Mich Jagger, and Steven Tyler are all alive in spite of the fact they all look like zombies, I think the members of KISS should all still be here.

I really hope it's got that funky half disco sound they were always famous for.
I really have never understood the attraction. If it weren't for the dressed up freaks thing they would have slid into obscurity years ago....cause they suck.

I'm old enough to remember when they hit it big (I was not yet past puberty, but still). Felt a lot of hype before I heard their first album and was very underwhelmed. Never cared about the makeup/smoke & fire & blood stuff. I remember in the fall of 1975, when I entered middle school, many desks still had the logo visible in thick black marker graffitti, tho the janitors clearly had put a lot of elbow grease into expunging them over the summer. By the end of September, students had replenished the logos. By January, all the logos had "ucks" added on, complete with runic 's'
I went on a Kiss spree last year out of boredom (laid up with broken ankle, no riding). I found I actually enjoyed two or three of the older songs, and came as no surprise to subsequently learn they were all penned by Ace Frehley. Imo, this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elwJNGS9aQ0) is Kiss' finest moment, period.
