Mountain Biking - SRAM PG-1050 Powerglide II 12-36: Will it work for mtn biking?

I bought a VERY LIGHTLY used set of Stan's ZTR Crest wheels, and decided that I might as well mount a new cassette on it.

As the title says, it is a SRAM PG-1050 cassette, 12-36, which is what is currently on my bike. I ASSUMED that the cassette I was buying off ebay would obviously be for mtn biking, as the number and size of the cassette was matching what is currently on my bike.

Now that I sober up, and do a little looking, it appears that the cassette I bought is aimed at road biking.

Will it make my mtn bike automagically explode?

Only other tad of information that might be of use is that this will be on a bike running a 1x10 drivetrain, with a SRAM X-9 shifter.

But seriously, there are road and mountain versions of the 1050. It appears that they mostly differ by cog-spread offered and the fact that the mtn version uses a steel lockring instead of alloy. Mtn may have alloy spacers instead of plastic?

Clusters for road: 11-23; 11-26; 11-32; 12-25; 12-26; 12-27; 12-28; 12-32.
Mountain clusters: 11-23; 11-26; 11-28; 11-32; 12-36.

Your 12-36 is 'officially' a mountain. Whew. Keep the baggies on.

Even if it was a "road specific" cassette, you could still use if for MTB.
