Hi, I just bought an '03 trek 4300. It seems in pretty good condition and I only got it for like 130 bucks. I've just started trail riding a bit and the shocks bottom out very quickly. My preload doesn't seem to have much of an effect. I was wondering if there are any cheap options to upgrade to a new fork.
Check ebay and check it often, be sure you go with another 80mm fork. Expect to spend $150+ for a decent used one.

ok. Is it ok to put a 100-120mm fork? this is not nearly enough travel for the kind of riding I do.
