Sorry but I can't stand Halle Berry.
Ever since I saw her perform the most painfully cheesy dialogue with James Bond in Die Another Day I just could not stand her anymore.

I just pre-ordered The Avengers on 3D BluRay. Not all superhero movies suck. :notamused:

Just DC's do.

I used to read Scrooge McDuck comics. I never could get into the superhero thing. Actually, I still read Duck comics occasionally. I'd watch the heck out of a Scrooge McDuck film, provided it was a good depiction of him and none of that pansy-a$$ Ducktales foolishness.

In a GQ interview from 2011 with Clint Eastwood and Leonardo DiCaprio following their collaboration on Hoover's biopic, Clint rails against those recent movies. I'll admit I went to see the first Batman flick with Michael Keaton out of mild curiosity, but I've had zero interest since then.

I do want to see this one since it had such good reviews but am leary since so many of the superhero movies are big letdowns for me. I thought the Thor movie was awful and since he's a character in The Avengers.....

Capt. America, the Iron Man movies, and the last Hulk were pretty good though.
And Scarlet Johanson in a leather suit > much > than Halle Berry.

I'll agree with you on the first two movies, not so much Hulk (and Thor was a waste of time), but you, sir, are committing blasphemy with that last statement. Sure I didn't see Avengers so my thoughts are based on the Iron Man sequel (and I've only seen stills of Ann Hathaway's take on Catwoman), but without having even seen the Halle Berry movie (other than bits here and there) hers is a level of hotness that these other girls can't reach (though they all easily eclipse the Michelle Pfiefer catwoman).

Iron man has grown on me. Along with Scarlett there's also Gwyneth P.

I agree with you on this one, other than Capt. America, it had a way high cheese factor to me. I would have to include at least the first Spiderman movie into that list instead, as I thought it was a well put together movie. The jellybean scene sure didn't hurt that perception.

Ouch.

Thor was the first movie I bought in 3D format since I got my new TV in June and wanted to test out the capabilities. It's due to that it is one of my favorites. Epic views of the city of Asgard, real depth to the fight scenes...all added up to the experience of watching another movie altogether.

I'm an admitted former comic book buff (all my comics from the 80's are bagged and carded still) and have enjoyed most of the Marvel films immensely. Sorry Allen...I even like some of the DC stuff. So far my BluRay collection is majorly focused on comics films. I have the entire X-Men series to date, Iron Man 1 & 2, Both Hulks, Thor 3D, Captain America 3D, The entire Resident Evil series (except the newest still in theaters, natch) and even the latest Underworld in 3D though not the previous series. The interesting thing about watching entire series is the "newness" of the HD and sometimes 3D quality allows for a very pleasant re-viewing of the predecessor movies which refreshes the story in your mind and lends continuity to the storyline. The resolution allows one to pick up many details, like listening to favorite old music on a high quality stereo and hearing things you'd missed. The Marvel series in particular even has "Easter eggs" in the credits that foreshadowed the upcoming movies...if you bothered to stay in the theater that long.

In a nutshell, don't discount movies based upon other pop media sources until you've experienced them in either a theater or on a nice home theater setup. All that said...I have no plans to buy "Catwoman"...ever.

I'm with you on the X-men series (except for the last one - Origins?) and Iron Man 1 and 2. Saw the Eric Bana Hulk and found it wanting. I did think Spiderman 1 and 2 were great - 3 not so much.

I finally saw the Avengers last weekend with my son and enjoyed it.
