I've been to Sherando, lot of camping out of Long View.
Been thinking about riding Skyline Drive next summer but haven't done a lot of research on it yet.

Thanks Hodag. Yes; lots of camping in the area. Actually camped with the family and dog at Sherando a couple weekends ago.
Skyline would be a great ride. Great views and the weather is (usually) hard to beat. Let me know when you come out this way and maybe I can connect with you for a few miles. Regards
