Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Switching frames/components, will this be a problem?

I just bought a Fuji Declaration. I bought this cause it was my size, but I'm not a fan of the color scheme.

I plan on buying this frame:

Stripping it and painting it. I don't want to take apart my current bike cause I want to ride it. So I'll work on this over the next couple of weeks, but still have a bike to ride.

Can I just take the components and switch them? I'm a complete noob, so I'm not sure if I'll run into any problems. The items that worry me are the bottom bracket and fork. I'm not sure if they are specific to the frame or not. Maybe you guys can give me some insight.

And if I decide to disassemble, I plan on visiting the LBS to take care of some tool work that I don't have available, again, that comes back to the fork and BB.

What do you guys think? Is this a good plan, or will it be a headache?

Wait am i understanding this correctly. You dont like the declaration "color scheme" so you to solve that you are going to buy another frame, whose paint you also dont like, and strip the second frame to paint???

why not just strip and paint the first frame? What am I missing?

Because he wants to have a bike to ride while he works on painting the frame.

Anyways, I think your plan is bad. Just ride the bike you have for a while until you aren't a noob anymore and can build a fixed gear bike from scratch.

Stupid plan is stupid. Ride it, worry about colors later.

Not completely sure, but from what i remember, both bikes have different seat clamp diameters. Also, the declaration has a semi integrated headset so you might need to get a whole new one altogether for the classic. It's all doable but it's not really worth it if you dont have ypur own tools.

Edit: just checked and they can take the same seatpost. You shouldn't have much of a problem.

Thanks for the input guys. I wanted to do this because I was debating whether I should build a bike or just buy complete. I figured I'd buy a complete and slowly mod, and upgrade, instead of starting from scratch, but still learn how to put together a bike. I guess I'll ride a bit more before I start buying more stuff.

dont make the mistake i did. i bought a schwinn racer. its some what heavy with an ugly rear sloaping top tube. ive made some lucky breaks with decent parts so im sitting on omniums, nitto drops and xpedo pedals, good deal on a specialized toupe expert. But nowi want a better frame, ive already bought a wheelset previously that i now hate. so im looking at another 150 to200 for a kilo frame/fork, and a decent wheelset.

if id just listened more and waited. ive saved moneys

wait til you either have time to build what you want or a complete with components or a frame you realy want. its worth it. trust me
