I posted a thread about two weeks ago regarding GT Bikes. I was waiting for Dick's Sporting Goods to get another shipment in.
Last week, I decided to go down to a local bike shop to see what they had in stock. I ened up walking out or more correctly riding out on a new Jamis Cross Country SX. I don't know a lot about mountain Bikes but it seems like a really nice ride. I probably could have gotten a better price at a large sporting goods store but the added knowlege of the bike shop owner made paying a couple dollars more well worth it. As a matter of fact, when he was making some final adjustments on the bike before I took it, he felt the gears were not derailing as good as they should, so he replaced whatever he needed to with some higher quality parts.

You mean it wasnt shifting perfectly? I dont think he replaced parts...he just tuned it up before you took it. You paid somewhere around 350 for that bike right? I built one of those 3 days ago, of course its a lower end bike, so it has lower end parts. Have fun with it.:D

I have a deep love for my Jamis. I put 40 mile on it yesterday just for fun.

Just got back from a four hour ride...Klein, I'm not sure what parts were changed but he did say that he replaced something. Maybe a cable or something. Bladiblah, you are right on the money, $350.00. They did thow in a pair of fingerless biking gloves with a little bit of coaxing. Ride safe...Coldsteel
