Advocacy & Safety - UK only. Can anyone recommend a solicitor to recover post accident costs

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Dear Forum people,

So last year I was commuting and ended up going through a windscreen (head on - all very horrible) and had a trip to A&E (only bruising).

The driver was convicted of dangerous driving (15mth ban, 150hrs community service)

I do not have any CTC cover or insurance (yes I know I should but I havent and yes I will get some), can anyone recommend a solicitor who would do this on a contigency fee basis ?

Am in Southampton UK,

Apologises if this is posted in the incorrect forum,

Cheers

Tom

Although not the wrong forum for your post, there are only a couple of UK folks that check in here.

You might get a better response posting in the regional forum:

You'd do better on www.bikeradar.com - uk-based forum

As a yank (traveling in the UK and needing a solicitor for injury) I spoke to my sport mates who knew solicitors through direct experience, and as suggested going through a UK bike forum might be your best bet? At the end of the day you do want a personal injury lawyer, and a bulldog to get the job done. Let's hope that insurance coverage was adequate and that some measure of damages can be recovered. Though I do know that payouts in the UK are rather miniscule compared to the US.

That said - I hope you are getting on.

Cheers,
