So ive been riding fixed for about 4 years and before that I rode bmx and still do actually. :D
I actually came across eighthinch selling a female fixed hub which is the type of hubs I have on my subrosa.
Granted its only a front hub and I haven't been able to find a rear hub but I like the way its somewhat flush with the frame.

I know I can just cut my axles to make them flush with the nut but that seems too sketchy plus id like to build a new wheelset anyway.
so any of you guys ride them or have seen them in person?

Don't mind the oxidation. Rode in the rain last week and need to do a bit of cleaning.

Awesome man thanks for the pics!
they give the bike an even cleaner look.
and you don't have to worry about the axle sticking out and gashing your calf. :roflmao2:

+1 for the raw frame

Profile makes some nice looking track hubs with allen bolts:

I've got those on a White Industries hub. After a few years the bolts are deforming.

My Phil Wood hub was constantly slipping forward no matter how much gargantuan strength I used when tightening the bolts. No me gusta.

Damn I had no idea Profile started making track hubs!
they look good but like all their hubs...you can buy a so-so wheelset for that price :(
40 more bucks and I can buy another KiloTT haha

thanks for the info guys! ill definitely keep a lookout.
I'm riding a Fly V2 front hub and a Gsport ratchet in the back
and I just figured there had to be female hubs for track too.

FWIW - Profile has been making those hubs for a few years.

The slotted and tapered washers I got with the blkmrkt frame seem to actually be preventing this. Thought it was a gimmick at first, but so far, never had to adjust the rear except to counter chain stretch.

crazy, I guess i never thought of going to them for non-bmx racing stuff.

Well what I like about my bmx hubs is that the front one uses a 8mm hex and the rear used a 6mm hex but both use a 17mm socket which makes it alot easier to tighten down. Ive never had them slip however I could see tightening it only through the allen wrench wouldn't be as secure. I use my torque wrench at 25ft/lbs anyway.

sucks to hear about the phil ones. dont want that happening riding fixed but i suppose a good slotted washer would help

The Mavic Io uses a female hub that uses 5mm head bolts.

It is well known for being able to survive intense crashes.

I know this is not a street wheel. I'm just offering it as an example of a strong wheel that uses that style of hub.

Yeah, I had that problem with some old American Classic hubs years ago. You just have to use a chain tensioner on the drive-side. That's the only solution.
