Sometimes I wish I actually GOT some snow here in east Texas, although after hearing from some of my friends in the north, maybe I don't wish that at all!

I'm brewing up my best spell just for you Ms.Vicki.
Hear me Mother Nature, Jack Frost and Old Man winter.
We have a disbeliever!
May the wrath of sub zero temps and a snowy blizzard descend on East Texas.
We have a disbeliever here.
May Snow and icicles be hanging from her roof.
Let it be, Let it be,
The all powerful God of snow and ice!
:D
I like riding in snow. Slows all the drivers down, and they get scared, so they actually pay attention to where they are going some of the time. Refreshing.
We haven't had much here in DC this year BUT todays commute will again be in another snow storm. I'm not tired of it yet but soon will be. 3rd snowfall since last Weds. I'm use to th cold though. Charlie
Not at all tired of it. Can stand to look at it on top of the nearby mountains all day long. This is especially true if I am comfortable in short sleeves and shorts while gazing at the snow caps.
Haven't been able to ride for a week due to combo of cold and wet/ice. Sucks big time. My hand is up.
I don't mind if I can go xc skiing, but my wife has a different opinion:
Snow is ok. I'd just prefer not to have the hassel. What gets me is the REALLY REALLY COLD!
May Snow and icicles be hanging from her roof.
May Snow and Eyecicles be hanging from her bike and body....
Snow is ok, it is rideable and it makes the lights work better on the trail, what really sucks is rain on snow and ice which makes it close to impossible to ride a bike. Hands half up

At least I never get anything like this!

Don't know. But I *feel* his pain...
Snow on the road ..GOOD
Snow on the bike path ..GOOD
Snow in the woods... EXCELLENT
Snow in my driveway...BAD
16 inches of snow the other day, 3-4 more yesterday, single digit temps, frozen pipes in the basement, sore back from so much shoveling, long drives to work in the snow, no above feezing temps for a long time, and it isn't even Feb yet.
Was off the bike for three straight days.
Yes we can complain, but only because we can. I love it and would have it no other way.
Nothing is ever as sweet as that first warm ride after a long winter of bundling up.
You are barking up the wrong tree ( by gloating and thinking that we are suffering up here) if you think i'd rather be down there where it is warm all of the time, Yech...did that for three years and it never rained, everything was brown, everything was new,

Hard to say exactly because of all the wind. But about 24" I think in East Prov. Could not open the front door. Rode the day after the storm. Hopefully tomorrow too.

Yes, this is just like a real winter..we usually get a little of everything down here but not this much at once. Living by the coast I get a little spolied.
Heat wave this W/E? Above freezing, sunny.

About 30 for Saturday. I'm riding tomorrow if it kills me.

I'm out all day Saturday and Sunday too.
1 more month of winter here, then biking season opens again. Going to be especially great this season.

Biking season never ends. Espescially in the Winter Cycling Forum. ;) Snowing right now. Just got back from the garage where i swapped wheels for the studded tires. (some ice too.) I was actually thinking about taking a day off tomorrow. My legs were feeling pretty mashed this morning. I haven't missed a day in a few weeks- at over 20 miles every day. With all of the clothing and winter boots, studded tires etc., it starts to wear on the ol legs after awhile. I need to rest them but man that snow looks fun out there. :p
Winter biking is fun, but in my opinion its much funner to bike when the ground is crisp.
I agree but for that, it needs to be cold out :/
Snow is fun here in Ohio for a minute or so. We end up puting the bike on a trainer. You have to fight at beating boredom. Well most of us just hibernate for 2 monts.
Got out today, and to my suprise, the sun was out! I just love sunny, winter rides.

I'm tired of it and we didn't have much snow so far this year. Well, we've still got two more months of winter, I'd better not say anything... ignore what I wrote.
Riding in snow? NO PROBLEMO. If you love MTB, you GOTTA try ski-biking. Its basically a bike on the snow, only skis where your wheels should be. Finding a resort that allows it / rents equipment is getting easier. Try www.ski-bike.org for a listing of resorts. I also posted a link to some schweet videos in the Shameless Promotions section.
Anybody try it yet????

I actually did it maybe 35 years ago. I wish I had a picture. They were not as sophisticated as they are now, they did not have a padded bike seat or suspension. But they were amazingly similar to what's avaliable now.
My problem is I want to start in my driveway and skip the car part. :) I don't want to drive to a ski area any more. So I use the pedal and wheel model.

Nice photos: This past weekend had perfect weather for a ride in New England, bare trees in snow covered woods and fields, frozen ponds and rivers, the beaches were deserted, and there was the smell of burning wood in the air. Got to love it.

Where did you ride?
Where did you ride?
On Sat: the NBW Johnnycake ride route: it was a winter wonderland ride.
On Sun I went down backroads to Charlestown Beach and then Matunuck. Nothing like the beach in the winter!
Where were those pictures taken?

Excellent! Nice place for a ride! I ride down there from here all the time in the nice weather.
I goofed. The road in East Providence was hardpacked snow and ice all around my neighborhood. So I left home on my mtb with studded tires to go down towards Newport.
Oops. Dry pavemant in Barrington. I don't want to wear out my studs. The lake was Echo Lake in Barrington. Last winter it was solid enough to ride on, not this year. So now I'm hoping to take out a road bike a.s.a.p. I saw some roadies on Sunday the roads were very clear around here on Sunday. I wanted to be with them soooooo bad.. :(
It's the ice that really bites! I still don't have the hang of that. This AM on my commute I actually got off and walked about 40 yards over some ice. I'm such a wuss!
Amazing.. 45 to 50 degrees f today, rode today on bare pavement. No wind almost too calm. Strange.
