Hello all. I'm a 43-year old who's rediscovered the love of biking. When I was a kid and through college I used to ride a fair amount in the Toledo area. Since grad school I had just kept my old Schwinn World Sport and hardly ever used it. With trying to get my son into biking, and having purchased a bike rack for my car this spring, I've rediscovered the love of bicycling, mainly on longer park trails (paved, gravel, or packed dirt--no mountain biking). A couple of years ago I had my old Schwinn fixed up by a local bike shop. Now I've come to realize it's just not quite up to snuff for the trails I've been doing, and I've got a new 2013 Specialized Tricross Sport Disc Compact (in orange!) on order. I'm very excited to get it. I test rode a lower Tricross model at the shop and loved it. I've got a Google Doc where I keep track of more or less local (around Michigan, Ohio, maybe Indiana) trails. Always interested in more! I'm looking forward to hanging out here, and especially, learning more about modern bikes. Doing the research for the one I ordered made me realize just how out of touch I had become.
