Incorrect. The english word for racetrack is racetrack.
Ultimately, "pista" is latin for miller. In modern Italian it means racetrack. I dont necessarily get the etymology, unless it refers to the circular nature of a mill. It may also relate to pistrinum (latin) which can also mean bakery and drudgery. Is track racing drudgery?

Pista. Latin it is Miller? Latin it is Beaten. To beat. As in, beat down; trampled. Beat down the weeds, grass, snow... You get a Trail. Or a track. Pista = Track.

I love pista.

Do you really love pista or are you just saying that because you saw it?

Can't wait for the sequel. Whatever pista means, it makes any word that it's added to sound faster. Try it.

Well, look at it this way. Pasta is something you eat. A posta is something you hang on your wall. By deductive reasoning, pista is the act of throwing spaghetti at a wall to check if it's ready. A noodle going at a high velocity, aka a bicycle.

Well, a mill is for grinding and pulverizing, so the connection here is pretty obvious.

:D

Now that I'm thinking about it, I'd be pretty GTG if all I had was a niner, a pista and a santa cruz.

I could be wrong but I believe it may have been an old wooden ship used in the civil war era...
