any input on this http://www.peterverdone.com/wiki/index.php?title=Disc_wheel_Lacing ? i have always used mirrored lacing(all pull spokes heads out etc.)
Unless you're using substandard spokes, the main driver of a wheel's durability stems from build quality rather than particulars about lacing style.
With the differences in riding condition that'll naturally occur, I don't think it'd ever be possible to claim "this wheel would have survived if only it'd been laced mirrored".
I've built'em all, and I've ridden them all. Wouldn't been able to separate a Shimano lace from a mirror lace apart from looking.
I have a fairly strong preference for mirrored lacing, but I realise it's almost entirely aesthetic...
