Thing is, the shortage is a fraud. It was just an advertisement placed by the UK pork producers council trying to get buyers ready for higher prices due to the rising costs of corn (stupidly used in ethanol production rather than feeding us and the animals that feed us because that's where the subsidies lie and that's where the shortage is - due to weather). Also, the bacon that they were talking about in the original press release was what we call Canadian bacon anyway, not the good stuff.

The drought in the midwest didn't exactly help corn prices.

Well, we'll have to start eating turkey bacon then. Or beef bacon, perhaps.

No, not veggie bacon. I have flirted with vegetarianism before, but never would I stoop to veggie bacon.

The National Pig Association of the United Kingdom wants British customers to feel more comfortable paying more for bacon. It’s business. Cruel, manipulative business, but business nonetheless.

Nah, we went to the moon all right, but this is just like how all the packaging sizes of food is getting smaller to avoid raising prices on cereal and stuff. So you're really paying more, you just don't realize it.

Incorrect. A bag of doritos is still the same size it was 30 years ago. They just put more air in it now days.

I saw a special documentary on the Discovery Channel about how wild hogs are literally taking over in some areas of the south and mid west. They are breeding so fast that hunters can't kill them fast enough and they are destroying large areas of farmland. Wouldn't that make a bacon surplus? I assume you can eat these wild pigs. The show was called "Pig Bomb" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vrSu5be8R4

All a tax scam.
John Glenn was filmed on a Hollywood set after the first test when the rocket fell over and broke in half at Cape Canaveral.
I see you were sleeping during history class at San Juan High.

And, the chips are thiner. Try and scoop up some salsa and the they break apart.

Very disappointing.

Why do you call it Canadian bacon?

No Idea as is seems what the Canadians call Bacon is the same stuff tehy Yanks do. The Canadians call the stuff we call Canadian Bacon "Back Baacon".

Why do we call them French fries?

That one I can answer!

A French Cut is a diagonal or lengthwise cut of a vegitable to expose more on the indide flesh of a vegitable.

So French Fries really are French Cut Fried Potatos.

Eventualy shortened to French Fries.
