Hello Everybody. I usually hang out in the C&V threads but I am looking for an odd old part and I am hoping you can help me. First I don't see a "Trade" thread sticky do you have one here?
I am looking for some dropout spacers that came on lower level "10 Speeds" back in the late '70 through the late '80s. There was usually one on the nondrive side of bikes with a "Claw" type derailleur, you know the kind that bolts in the slot where the wheels goes. Does anyone have a small stash of these things?

The word "fixie" makes my teeth itch. Also, dropout spacers are still available new, if you don't have any luck in trades.

If you use those on a fixed gear build, your chain is eventually going to stretch and you're not going to want them there anymore
...or if you plan to play with gear ratios, same thing, they will get in the way of getting proper chain tension.
If you're just trying to score stuff that normally gets tossed in the conversion of old bikes, carry on

I have a feeling Bianchigirll is just looking for some to put on her vintage Bianchis and nothing more.

I am well aware that you can't use these on a bike converted to a fixie. It is too bad you guys toss them, we occasionally have people looking for them on the C&V threads.

Actually They are going on a Univega errand/grocery bike I am building. My Bianchis have actual adjuster screws on them, well the ones that don't have vertical drops.

I don't "toss" anything. If I can't use it, it goes to someone who does...or the local co-op
