I want a trunk rack for 3 bikes, after reading amazon reviews I haven't decided on anything, it seems they're all good for some and bad for others, or can't handle 3 bikes at once. Which one is the best?

Post a link to each bike.

Two bikes are just simple wal-mart cruisers (aluminium la jolla), one is mountain trek.

Saris Bones 3 (http://www.saris.com/en/bike-racks/vehicle-racks/trunk-racks/bones-3-bike.html)is the best IHMO, however you need to be conscious of the weight restrictions it is limited to 3 35# bikes. I usually put a 40# city bike and a 32# Raleigh 3 speed on mine. :innocent:

Saris Bones = Excellent.

Your bikes will need a horizontal top tube to rest properly, though.

Or close to horizontal. I do manage to get my wife's step through Raleigh and my slant tubed Redline R530 on without too much trouble.

Saris does make a thing called a Bike Beam (http://www.saris.com/en/bike-racks/vehicle-racks/accessories/trunk-rack-accessories/bike-beam.html?page=shop.product_details&category_id=11&flypage=flypage_images_norating.tpl&product_id=40) that you can use if you need a top tube. My daughter has one that she needed for her German built city bike on the rack they were using. I don't believe her rack was a Saris though.
