Hey everyone, new to the board, just started commuting about 2 weeks ago, I don't have to tell you guys.....its awesome.

The April/May rains here in Missouri have been irritating me, and I have decided that I am riding, no matter what the weather!!! The unpredictable weather has ruined too many plans to commute already.

Just wanted to know how to make sure my bike stays OK after getting soaked. Are there special lubes, etc I should be getting to protect it? What should I be paying special attention to after coming in from the rain? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Use fenders and the bike stays a lot cleaner.
Clean and wax the frame with car wax.
wax or grease any exposed cables.
Grease the seatpost and stem (only threaded, not threadless types) where they are inserted into the frame tubes, to avoid seizing in place.
Keep the chain lubed, a wax like White Lightening is good in temperate rain.
If the frame is steel, squirt some WD40 into the small holes in the rear stays.

Apart from that, I dont worry. My steel bike was old when I got it and has seen 4 wet coastal winters with no real harm.
