Hi I am 14 years old and I want to start XC racing. I just bought a Giant Iguana, it has a Rock Shox Pilot C fork, and I was wondering if it is good enough or not. I also need to know what kind of saftey equipment is needed or recomended.

Hi, Good luck with your racing I think you'll have a lot of fun.

Your bike will work just fine to get you started, you'll probably break or wear out a few parts over time, you'll just have to figure out if it's worth your money to upgrade or buy a better bike.
You WILL need a helmet to race,other than that it's up to you, I wouldn't race without full finger gloves, they're cheap and believe me it sucks to pick rocks out of your palms because you WILL fall!
