I went for a short ride today. It was afternoon-rush hour. Apparently today, is some sort of holiday because the post office was closed, so I thought traffic would be a little light.
Anyway, I was heading out a single-car exit lane from a small mall(not a strip mall). As I was going out the exit, the motorist right behind me.......TRIED TO PASS ME IN THE EXIT LANE!!!!
Share the road.
Exit lanes however are another story.

If you squeeze WAY over to the right, there's enough room for the both of you. It helps if you're both texting.

Columbus Day. In case you hadn't noticed most legal holidays have been moved to Monday.

That is just plain stupid! There is no way I am going to allow a motorist along-side, in a single exit lane.

I knew it was a holiday, when I saw the post office closed.

Share the road, does not equate to 'share the lane'.

I don't mind sharing the road, just not the exact same spot on the road at the exact same time
As our space / time coordinates intersected my mind fixed on a single solitary thought, "This is going to suck!!!".

Not only is that a good point. You gave me a good laugh, too.:thumb:

I get this all the time in NYC/Manhattan. It's downright dangerous - but they do it anyway and speed up like crazy to get away when they know you are coming after them. The last one was a truck and the guy said he was sorry.

I was stopped at a T-intersection with a left-turn only and right-turn only lane. I was in the left-turn lane.
A motorist tried to pass me, and turn left, in the right-turn only lane. He just smirked at me.

A few months ago, I had one motorist pass me on the left while I was turning from a left turn lane, only to have the motorist then immediately right hook me to enter a driveway to a local restaurant, they must have been late for a dinner appointment.<sarcasm>

I was being sarcastic... as long as motorists think they can get away with it... whatever IT is, they will do it.
The same is true for cyclists BTW.
