Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Another place to put brakes & riding brakeless?

I know this may be weird, but is there any other place to put brake levers besides the handlebars? The brakes are on the midsection of my drops like on risers, and it just looks goofy to me, especially when the brake chord is kinda long. And I wanna look like I ride brakeless, but I can't since my mom and girlfriend won't let me.

And speaking of brakeless, is riding brakeless really a good idea. Most of the people riding fixed gear in my area of the island (Oahu) are riding brakeless. I never really use my brakes, it's only really use when I need to make an urgent stop. I know being safe is important (I ride with a helmet), but for me, it's mostly about image. I think I look cooler without brakes, like I fit in with the other fixed gear guys. I'm really not to sure about it, but is riding brakeless better? And what's it like and the disadvantages?

I've seen someone put the brake lever on their seatpost for the back brake, which looked dumb. All in all, being a poser is a no-no. If you can't ride brakeless (or your mom and gf won't let you) then keep at least a front brake and don't try to hide the lever.

The benefits to riding brakeless is lighter weight, more aerodynamic, and faster speed because you don't really ever stop. So you get to your destination much faster than someone with brakes that is always slowing down.

Also, riding brakeless scores major points with the ladies. Im actually the opposite of you. My mom and girlfriend won't allow me to use brakes. I also have various life insurance policies and they are the beneficiaries. So that might have something to do with it, although they assure me it doesn't.

Insurance carrier would deny coverage on the Life Ins for riding without brakes. Tell your sister and mom to follow you around with a brake setup to install as soon as you eat it.

I say machine your bar and install a motorcycle throttle with internal cable routing. Route into frame from bar and use it to actuate a disc caliper on your chainring. Or Mucky it up.
