Hey guys so I finally have the funds to upgrade from my current P.O.S. I luckily have a roomate in the bike "industry" who can get me deals on parts. Essentially, I have been looking through my options and trying to figure out what frameset to choose.
Right now I have the opportunity to get a Leader 721 for about 225, or the All City Big Block (with fork) for 275, and Im kind of torn.
A little about me, currently I have a short commute to school that I take my bike to everyday. Wind/Rain/Snow or Shine. I do plan on eventually trying track racing, and personally I like the feel of track bikes anyway.
The other components we kind of planned out to get are the Soma Fork (for the Leader) and
Sram 300 Crankset w/ External BB 48 tooth.
Any other suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Considering 2012 Leader 721 frames currently retail for $235 (http://www.retro-gression.com/product/2011-leader-721-frame), $225 isn't exactly a screaming deal.
For that price, I'd go with the Big Block.

As a 721 owner, I agree with all the Big Block votes.
multiple Leader owner w/ no complaints, but after now being a Nature Boy pilot.......Big Block.

No experience with the big block but it seems rad as ****. The 721 and big block are two relatively different bikes fwiw. The 721 is to the kilo tt what the big block is to the kilo wt. The big block is way more versatile from what I understand.

Ya, but thats before S/H. I can get it $225 shipped. Regardless, can't say I wasnt expecting the unanimous feelings towards the big block. Especially with the 150ish dollars that is getting cut off the retail price. Can anyone who has ridden both give a quick review, that may be helpful.... The only reason this is even a question in my mind is that I rode a Leader and kinda "fell in love" with it. The other problem is, im having trouble finding any stores around me that stock All-City's so I can test ride it, and because this is a employee discount deal my roomate cant really get one ordered and built specifically for a test ride. (Apparently stores don't like doing that for people mooching off of the discount.)
Anyways, thanks for all the input so far!
