I am one of the older riders in cyclocross in Victoria Australia.
I was wondering how many others over 50 are racing CX, whether in Aus or elsewhere in the world.
I am well known in the Dirty Deeds CX series.

Post where and when you ride.

Ill be racing the Ohio Masters Cyclo Cross Championships this Saturday near Columbus OH.

Other than being one of the super mature riders I don't think I'm well known.

:D

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I race in S.W Idaho in three local series. Total of 14 races here, but plan on going to Bend, OR in Dec. for the USGP this year.

I race in the 45+ cat. but in the Waffle Cross series that starts this weekend, I'm moving to the 35+ because I don't need another duffle bag. ;)

Waffle cross? You have to stop and eat a waffle on each lap?

That's the race, after the race. Three shortened laps and you drink a 12oz. cup of beer and 1/2 a waffle after each lap. I don't drink, so can only report that it looks tough as hell, and is very entertaining to watch.

I think cyclocross is kooky, but that is a very unpopular opinion where I live. :p

I know it's wrong, but my impression has always been "Rugby on a Road Bike in the mud". Not for me!

I like KOOKY. Also in Aus, Dirty Deeds offers an entry level with whatever bike you have. This allows you to build up your experience before outlaying for a serious CX bike. This has allowed riders to use flat bars, small wheels, fat wheels or even unicycles.

I've never bought a bike thinking "can I carry this easily?"
