What is the best single speed gear ratio to ride around flat roads with lots of car traffic and street lights? the current bike I'm interested in purchasing has gear ratio 46/15, 700x23c wheels, 165 crank. I'm 5'9 190 lbs. I have pretty strong legs and have been riding a mountain bike for years.
46 x 15 is not the best.
Dont buy that bike.
That ratio is fine. There is an sticky for gear ratios.

It's almost like I remember discussing this type of thing before. Maybe we should sticky a thread about it so everyone can see it.
