Well, I did it (100k MS Ride) !! Made it to the end and felt like I had accomplished something. A month or so ago, a 5 mile ride was exhausting so it's good to see some progression.
My wife did great but she does that "spin" class a couple times a week which must help. I probably should have done the 50k since I'd only been riding for a month but none-the-less, I did it. First part of the ride was hilly, then it got hilly with a head wind, then relatively flat with a strong head wind (couldn't get 10 MPH). Experienced riders said it was a pretty difficult ride due to the wind.
I was totally spent around mile 55 :( : sick of fighting the wind; sick of the pain in my ass bones from the seat; sick of fighting with myself to keep pedalling. Not to sound like a sissy but for some odd reason, around mile 55, I felt as if I would cry at any moment. I think I was just totally spent mentally and physically but kept going anyway and got through it. Has this every happened to anyone else?
