Squirrels are interesting. I spent many hours of my youth trying to get my girlfriends to shoot me one.

Got a great photo the other day while mountain biking... Bobcat crossed the trail with half a squirrel in his mouth...basically he had the tail and hind feet swinging from his mouth... good use of squirrels (although I love to watch them steal seed from bird feeders)...

Well, do you?

You bet. Sauteed in a little onion, a little garlic... yum!

So you're saying that the squirrel I ran over yesterday, I should have picked up, shoved into a padded pailer, and sent to you for dinner?

It was him or me. Also, squirrels aren't exactly endangered around here.

Squirrels are the only other animals besides humans that can be suicidal. I've seen them standing beside the road, waiting for traffic to approach and then when it does, leaping under the wheels of the second car. It must s*ck to be a squirrel if it drives them to such extremes.

I've learned to tolerate the little buggers, since I have to share my walnuts with them. They are kind of cute. Nicer than the magpies that drop my walnuts on the driveway, so they'll get cracked open so they can eat them.

The sabre-toothed ones are pretty rare: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2223869/The-sabre-toothed-squirrel-Why-clever-creature-nutty-way-eating-snacks.html
