Got a Hybrid...again :)

Well I started out with a hybrid about a month ago. Returned it for a road bike which I love.

The other day I came across someone who was selling her 2003 Specialized Expedition Sport. She said she only rode it 4-5 times. She said that her LBS said it was a womens frame but it's a men's medium which is perfect for me.

Tires had no air, some rust on a few bolts, chain and gears but otherwise in pretty good shape. I brought it home and gave it a bath. Surprisingly the tires held the 80 PSI I put in them so I took it out for a quick spin and it shifted alright! Not as smooth as my road bike which has a different shifting system but definately doable for the price!

I just have to get the rust off and throw some lube on the cables and chain and we're ready to take this baby camping!

I have a 3 car garage - two bays for the cars, one bay for the bikes!

You may have to get a new home!

2 Jeep garage :D with a good amount of room in it because I had it built only 2 years ago and this is my first house so I haven't gone too nutty with the tools... yet.. ;)

Actually I plan on getting a MTB :) We like to camp in the hill country (Kerrville SP, etc) and there are some gorgeous trails that her Trek hybrid with 700x35 wheels wouldn't like too much.

Get some knobbies for your Expidition, and some cyclocross tires for the girlfriend's Trek, and you'd be surprised by the results.

You leave your bikes in the garage! :eek:
Each of my 4 bikes has(or will have) a spot in the house.
Roadbike (racing): Downstairs next to the piano. Isn't seeing much action this winter
Roadbike (Training/dry commuter): On the trainer. I take it out when roads are clear
Hybrid (wet/snow commuter): Entryway (unless the wife is having company and then it has to go to the garage temporarily). I ride this to work most often during the winter because its too much of a pain to re-wire all the lights from one bike to the other. (yes, I'm lazy)
Tri Bike (on order): Will go in room with trainer.

I can't believe you would treat your bikes with such disrespect as to leave them in a dirty cold garage!;)

BTW, The way to overcome the objections of your wife is to have so much bike stuff that there is no choice but to have it all over the house :D

Some garages are climate controlled and become a private bike shop. I keep all of my bikes in the garage, and all of my personal tools and repair stand.

Hey, I just learned about that in Algebra today! At least I think I did...Well, it was definitely n+1, but not necessarrily bikes...That's what I was thinking about!
