Decided to try something new. It's raining here and I figured I'd make a nice dog stew. The security guard in the back let his little yip yip annoy my dogs one too many times. :notamused:
Anyway, I was wondering if any one here knew how long I should let the meat cook before I add the veggies.
Dog is tough and stringy. It should stew for a good hour. Marinate before hand would be a good idea too. I always tell my dogs that one day I may cook them and tell them of veggies and ingredients that I'd put in. They listen and drool, they seem to be agreeable with the idea.

Add some cumin to mask the "wet dog" smell.
mmmmmm. dog stew. If you make dog chili, it should not have beans in it.

A slow braise in wine would work. Since it's a small dog, go for a light pino noir or a white. If it was a big dog I'd suggest a more robust cabernet.

^^^ moist heat is the key. I'd lean toward a bottle of stout, BBQ dry seasoning, dutch oven, 4+ hrs @ 250 deg.

I've had the meat cooking for about two hours now. Simmering and waiting until tender. The veggies are chopped, I think I'll add them in about an hour or so? I'm thinking maybe I should make gloves with the pelt and give them to the security guard as a Christmas present.

This whole discussion would be morbid and creepy if not for the fact I disdain little yappy dogs and one off the street is one less for my nerves!
Enjoy!
Reported! PITA is gonna be all over you Siu!
Pita might actually be a good accompanyment for dog stew...

Is there a Chinese restaurant nearby? I would always consult with the professionals.

Make it into a hat with the little legs hanging down.

Now invite the security guard over for dinner.
