Help:

I've avoided even trying to commute by bike for the last ten years. My excuse- no simple route from my home in Long Beach to my job in downtown LA at First and Main.

(I do ride the light rail most of the time)

If anyone here does this commute, what route do you take? I'm going to try bike commuting next week even if it's just one time.

I sure wish the LA River bikeway went all the way.

Jim, I'm not from sure, but maybe you could investigate the various routes to get where you are going and choose the ones with the least amount of traffic. Before I started doing daily commutes, I did about 5-6 test runs and found the best way to get there while going on streets with a bike lane, and the least amount of traffic. maybe this will help, good luck :)
