you're going to like them.

i'm running a 2.5 mobster and a 2.7 minion on my big bike, and have run the same on my hardtail in the past.

good stuff.

Looking nice Kona, would you mind letting me what they're like after giving them a proper ride? Im looking for some new tyres and was considering something from maxxis

Here's my findings.

These are the best tires thatI have ever tried. They have great grip, feels well balanced at a higher speed.

I love minions. My favorite tire of all the tires I have tried.

Depends on the year...

2002 2.75 (mobster and still had room)
2004 2.7 (pretty easily)
2003 2.5ish (small 2.7 highroller but they don't count)
2005 not a clue bob, likely the same as 2004

Correction...2.7 Maxxis, really measures 2.5. Only thing I didnt like about the Minions was how slow they rolled, it was terrible. Do seem pretty nice, grip well, light, mount to rim easily, pretty strong sidewalls. I just like Intense because the sidewalls are huge, they run true to size, and grip well....but a PAIN in the ass to get on.

Depends where you measure the tire, remember no standard in tire width measurement.

Maxxis' side knobs alternate between wider and narrow. You will get the 2.7 from the wider sideknobs and 2.5 from the narrower side knobs.

The 2.7 Mobster that I have on right now looks TINY compared to my 2.7 909. Of course its a big tire, thats pointless to have...anything over a 2.5 is silly.

The 2.7 Minion makes the 2.7 high roller look like a xc tire.
