I've recently seen 2 or 3 Christmas special of different shows I watch, purely by coincidence, and it's got me feeling the ol' Christmas spirit. My friends are going to hate me. For the next two months I'll be humming Christmas songs, watching Christmas movies, insisting on going sledding if it actually snows this year, etc etc. So what about y'all? You get bit by the Christmas bug?

I have a really hard time getting into Christmas for some reason. Not sure why...there's no tragedies in my past associated with it or anything, I just don't much care for it. The wife and kids get way into it though. Hell, my kids have been singing Christmas carols (in English and in French) for weeks now...
Eh. Call me Scrooge. :(

I enjoy Christmas, but this is wayyyyyyyy too early. My official start time is Thanksgiving weekend. I put up the outside lights and start watching the movies.

I know it's way early. I usually don't even realize christmas is coming up until at least thanksgiving. I think it's because just recently I've had a string of good luck, and it's got me feeling all positive and whatnot, combined with the fact that I'm already being reminded that it's coming up.

No that's the one thing that I haven't had good luck with... But I've waited 8 months so I can wait another couple of days.
I've been buying things for the vintage aluminum Christmas tree I acquired this year. In the past week I've bought some aluminum garland, some of the plastic icicles, a few ornaments, and a Penetray color wheel. I have one color wheel that is in various states of broken, but I figured it would be nice to have a fully functional one.
So, I'm all excited about the tree, but haven't had any thoughts of actual Christmas activities yet.

Eh Christmas is stressing me out because I haven't started shopping yet. Usually, I'm a third done by now. Also, I'm moving/buying a new house over the next month or so (and the new house means I'll have to buy a car after going without for 4 years), so I'm stressing about whether we'll have the cash on hand to go big for my wife's extended family like they expect every year (and hell to the no on going into debt for Christmas, especially for relatives we see once/twice a year at most).

I got a few stuff from last year that I bought on clearance...great idea. I haven't got much else. I'm usually a last minute shopper.

I am going to start celebrating the 4th of July by putting Christmas lights on my house and marching in the neighborhood parade in a Santa suit. It will be easy to find the Santa suit, because I am going to wear it at Easter too when I had out Christmas eggs.

It's way too early. I've started getting really embarrassed for humanity the past couple Christmases. People throwing money away on expensive toys while others are starving on the street. It just doesn't seem right.

Maybe since you are so close to me, we could stand outside the local Walfart and collect cans for the starving.

I've started getting invitations to Christmas parties. The first party is on November 30. That seems just a bit early to me, but maybe they got a discount on the venue for booking early.
I don't get all of the Christmas stuff out until after Thanksgiving. My one exception is election night in November - I usually watch A Christmas Story because there's nothing on TV except election results.

The Salvation Army would probably love to have you help. They have to pay people for bellringing when they don't get enough volunteers, and that cuts into the funds available to help others later. You'll be a pro in about 5 minutes too with easy on the job training.

I suppose you feel Mr.Jingaling of Halles dept. store in Cleveland was fake also?

Okay, now I feel I have to make a confession to you and the OP. I'm totally nuts about Christmas stores. When I was on vacation at the begining of October I went to three Christmas stores and bought ornaments. :o

Was one of them the new Hallmark Star Trek (http://www.hallmark.com/products/christmas/keepsake-ornaments/u-s-s-enterprise-ncc-1701-d-3295QXI2051_DK/)talking Christmas ornament? It plays Captain Picard's ST-TNG opening monologue.

I have a lot of the older ones. My favorite is the shuttle craft. It talks as well.
My daughter and her friend were riding with me the other day and for some reason they dug through my cd's and put in my Mercy Me christmas CD. I have been listening to it at least once a week since then. Christmas is the best.

Is only temporary. Usually fixed by taking a look at the credit card statements after wife's 1st Christmas shopping spree.

I did away with credit cards 15 years ago. Everyone understands if they don't get exactly what they wanted and they are okay with it. People need to quit being stupid and live in their budget. Its less stressful all around.

Why would ya'll wanna go an' ruin a perfectly good Christmas thread with Star Trek talk?

I started collecting them in the early '90's, but quit after the kids were born. I have a 10' stretch of garland with lights and the ornaments on it. It was a goal to replace all of the lights with the Star Trek ornaments. My son started getting into them a couple of years ago so you never know I may end up collecting them again.

The new ones run off of batteries instead of lights. I think I have about a dozen ornaments.
If you want to get in a good mood for Christmas, watch this (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0110955/) this movie...
