16stone = 224lbs, I dont think you should have a problem with most modern carbon fiber forks. One of the guys i ride with is ~300lbs (21.5 Stone), and has never had a problem with his bike.

for you larger guys, though:
Profile Design recommends against using over 2cm of spacers...

Carbon fiber forks are thee best forks! Almost as strong as steel but a little more flexible.
