They arrived this morning, sopping wet... Frank N. Storm and his wife Sandy. They say they are going to stay for 'a few days' and then quietly move along. They are terrible house guests--leaving everything in a turmoil. I will be really happy when they leave...

Go west young man.

We're in the middle of fire season out here. Midwest would be a better choice.

Hope you fare well... I'll be back in my holler listening to my Generac after everyone else loses power. We're hoping the high winds stay on the hilltops - we have a red-flagged electric pole (flagged in MARCH!!) with the house hook up box on the top of it just waiting to fall over! MonPower has been ignoring it for months!

^I saw WV might be looking at three feet of snow in certain places. Yikes.

Everything is closed here, all the big businesses are closed as well as schools. I have a new pergula I had been working on that stands above our old deck. Since it doesn't have handrails yet, it is not as structurally sound as it should be. So the gas grill is strapped to it and it is guyed out like a tent (just one corner). *fingers crossed*

Here's to hoping that DC gets washed into the Atlantic.

Well... never lost power, got about 4 inches of very wet slushy snow (I'm "down" in the central lowlands of WV), and my thoughts go out to those who are having a hard time of storm recovery.

It's been cleared, as far as I've heard. Sun was out today, balmy 50's....

FWIW, this thing just totaled about 250 miles of Atlantic coastline barrier beaches, from Montauk on Long Island to Cape May, NJ.

Not to mention the area's inundated on the bay sides of the barrier beaches, Long Island sound both coasts, NYC, and many add'l inland area's.

We just had the storm of the century.

As a resident of the south shore of Long Island, in one of the hardest hit communities, I hope I'm not around for the next one.
