Hello all! I've been a lurker on these boards for the better half of a year and finally decided to create an account to join in some conversations! I'm 26-years old, currently in transition from working to full-time student. I don't really classify myself as hardcore or casual when it comes to cycling. l I try to ride as much as possible. My bike is my primary method of transportation for commuting, errands, fun, etc. I have been living "car-lite" for the last 3-4 years, not actually owning my own car but having access to my wife's (now ex) in the past and currently have access to my girlfriend's car. However, I try to limit my need/use of the car unless it's absolutely necessary. I utilize public transportation when riding isn't an option, but this doesn't happen very often. I've been riding bikes since I was a child, was into skateboarding quite a bit but also did some freestyle BMX in my younger days. Starting commuting on a hybrid road bike casually about 6 years ago until I finally gave up the car and started doing it full-time after moving out of the rural south into a slightly more suitable, small urban environment that is Spokane, WA. Over the last year I've become obsessed with riding fixed gear and now my fixie is my primary, go-to bike for everything! Moving to Portland/Vancouver area in January (not sure if we'll reside on the WA side or OR side) and very excited about it! That's pretty much it, cya guys around!

Nice! I grew up in Middle Tennessee (Cookeville) and rode quite a bit, although there were times it felt like a death wish! I find drivers in the PNW to be a lot more bike-friendly for the most part, or at least not as aggressive or against sharing the road from my experience thus far.
