I have a chance to get a brand new 2011 Cannondale Trail SL2 for $700. I was wondering what everybody thought about this bike and whether or not it is a good deal. After doing a little research, it appears as though the MSRP was $1069 so it's at a heck of a discount. I'm just looking for a bike that's good for light trails. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That appears to me to be a great deal. The component highlight is the RockShox Recon, a decent fork that you won't feel a need to replace out of the the box. Deore hydraulic brakes are decent as well. Buy it if it fits you.
It's a pretty good deal, and I agree with Ken about it being a good starter bike. I am not actually a fan of the Small Block 8 tires, but a lot of people do like them. Give it a go! :thumb:
